The World Day for Decent Work is coming closer – by the minute! There are at the time writing this, more than 350 events in more than 100 countries by more than 200 ITUC affiliates and other cooperating organisations – we look forward seeing all these events taking place!
As you know by know, the main information hub is our web site: http://www.wddw.org. On October 7 itself we will be making live feeds on the Internet (www.wddw.org) about what is happening when it is happening, from the sunrise in Fiji to the Sunset in Alaska. You can help us by posting messages and comments on the web site or sending a sms or mms to this number: +32 476 62 10 41, any endorsements are welcome. We also welcome any photos and videos, preferably on the 7th itself.
You can send your photos to: wddw@ituc-csi.org
Videos you can send to us by using:
www.yousendit.com
www.mediafire.com
or the following ftp account: ftp://ftp.global-unions.org and for that account you need to state the following:
User: wddw
Password: wddw2008
There will also be a statement that you can use for your events, to read or make public in any other way. The statement will be found on the campaign web site under “Action tools” as from Thursday the 2nd. (Translations in Spanish, French and German will also be up during the Thursday, but be patient, they will come in a little later.)
If you haven’t planned an event for October 7 but you would like to contribute anyhow, you can help us by posting a link to the web site www.wddw.org on your own web site, or post a news item on Decent Work and ask your members and others to sign the Call to Action for Decent Work Decent Life on www.decentwork.org.
And don’t forget to have a look at the web site on the 7th and see what is happening - we will have people working on it around the clock!
Welcome to join in!
