On the occasion of World Day for Decent Work, in 2011 LIGA Youth, the youth committee of LIGA, Democratic League of Independent Trade Unions is organising a performance in Budapest. The action will take place on the Széll Kálmán square between 11:00-13:00.
In Hungary during the summer, a Labour Code draft proposal has been published by the government. The aim of the new LC is admittedly the flexibilisation of employment and the improvement of competitiveness. There is hardly any paragraph in the draft which would not– even to a small extent – result in negative impacts on employees, and the trade unions will have hardly any possibility to fight for better conditions for the employees.
We raise awareness of this urgent and severe situation by protesting against the approval of this LC, which would push employees to such hopeless situation, LIGA Youth is preparing a marching performance, where employees dressed as prisoners will be led by whackers around the square. We will also have a tent, music on the spot. Leaflets will be also distributed for the viewers.
