■ A challenge was launched to our National Federation of Education and its affiliated unions in order for them to implement debates on Decent Work in some schools and cities. The aim is the initiation/information of young people (many of them with some relative, even their parents, in a migrant situation) to the concept and the consequences of the lack of Decent Work in our societies;

■ A debate on the matter to be held in UGT headquarters, with our Youth Committee, members of the different Youth Committees of the Portuguese Parties, other social relevant organizations, as for instance, migrant ones, etc.

Besides the two specific initiatives for October 7th, we decided to adopt certain procedures:

• All the e-mails of the President, General Secretary, members of the Executive Secretariat , different statutory Committees, members of the Legal Department and Economic Studies Department, will be sent with the logo of the Campaign;

• All the initiatives of UGT, meetings of special groups, seminars, conferences etc, will have always some reference to Decent Work, in their themes or panels or presentations in order to bring the discussion on the subject;

• UGT Website (www.ugt.pt) – A dedicated webspace about the Campaign is already “on line”. All materials and texts are in Portuguese. There is a link to the official website of ITUC and also a link to all the ITUC affiliates and their Programmes all over the world;

• Besides the above item, our affiliates will receive written information about JMTD calling on their mobilisation;

• Utilization of the new technologies of information, like “twitter”, etc

INICIATIVAS DA UGT-P

■ Através da FNE (Federação Nacional dos Professores) e seus Sindicatos debates nas escolas, descentralizados geograficamente, sobre Trabalho Digno. O objectivo é a iniciação/informação dos/as jovens (muitos dos quais com alguém de família, incluindo os próprios pais, na situação de migrante) ao conceito e às consequências originadas pela falta de Trabalho digno nas sociedades actuais;

■ Um debate sobre o tema do Trabalho Digno, na sua Sede, com a Comissão de Juventude UGT, representação de Comissões de Juventude dos Partidos Políticos bem como de outras organizações/associações relevantes, como por exemplo, de emigrantes, etc.; Para além destas duas iniciativas específicas para o 7 de Outubro, decidimos aplicar alguns procedimentos:

• Todos os e-mails do Presidente, Secretário Geral, membros do Secretariado Executivo, diferentes Comissões estatutárias, membros dos Departamentos Jurídico e Económico, serão enviados com o logo da Campanha;

• Todas as iniciativas da UGT, reuniões de grupos especiais, seminários, conferências, etc., terão sempre alguma referência ao Trabalho Digno, quer seja nos temas, ou painéis, ou apresentações, de forma a dar visibilidade ao assunto e a suscitar o debate;

• Sítio da UGT (www.ugt.pt) – Aloja um espaço especial, em língua portuguesa, dedicado à Campanha que já está “on line”. Este espaço tem um link para o Sítio da CSI (Confederação Sindical Internacional) bem como outro link (clicar no globo terrestre) para todas as suas Organizações Sindicais e respectivos Programas, a nível mundial;

• Para além do já apresentado, os Sindicatos filiados na UGT receberão também informação escrita sobre a JMTD, apelando à sua mobilização;

• Utilização das novas tecnologias da informação, como por exemplo, o “Twitter”, etc.
