The Confederation des Travailleurs du Secteur Prive (CTSP - Mauritius) will for the 4th year organise a series of activities on Friday 7 October 2011.
Since Green Job does not necessarily mean Decent Job, the CTSP will seize the opportunity of the World Day for Decent Work to promote the idea that Decent Work means having Green Job AND Decent Job. We intends to do this by showing a short expose through a powerpoint presentation to some 100 Union Delegates coming from the Construction, Chemical and the private sector in general.
After this presentation which will be followed by a debate, all delegates will join in a Pacific March from the Union’s seat to the Place Raymond Chasles where on 7 October 2008 the CTSP unveiled a Workers Monument. There we will embellish the place with flowers, while some Leaders will deliver speeches in solidarity with all workers who have lost their lives through hazardous work and we will also pay tribute to million of workers who each day work in precarious condition.
This year the CTSP action will take place simultaneously in Mauritius and at ILO Geneva. Brother Reeaz Chuttoo who is also the General Secretary of the CTSP will participate in a Symposium on Precarious Work where on the 7 October 2011 in Geneva, he will also represent workers of the Private Sector in Mauritius.
