Estonian Trade Union Confederation (EAKL) has organized a campaign to protest against the governments plan to nationalize the public unemployment insurance fund and health insurance fund in order to cover the budget deficit with the reserves of these funds. The campaign is carried out under the name Kaitse oma raha! (Defend Your Money!)

The EAKL will go out on the streets gathering signatures and distributing leaflets that explain the situation to the people. EAKL has also opened a website www.kaitseomaraha.ee to gather electronic signatures against the governments plan.

The EAKL will give all the gathered signatures to Riigikogu (the Parliament) in order to prevent them from approving the government’s plan.
