Decent Work for Eurocup-2012 Workers Conference

National Conference of EURO-2012: Decent Work Campaign which will take place in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on September 21-23, 2011. Decent Work Campaign targets workers rights at construction sites of Football Eurocup 2012 Ukraine/Poland started in 2009 and since that time we see many developments in building workers’ and union status. The National Conference is a part of Campaign for Decent Work during which results will be evaluated; further steps and activities will be developed for improving working conditions on construction sites and lobbying interests of building workers. The main topics of the Conference are: Decent Work for EURO-2012 builders as a criteria of successful preparation to Championship; corporate social responsibility in construction companies of EURO-2012, freedom of association and organizing Euro-2012 construction sites in Ukraine, cooperation between unions, government and contractors during the preparation to the Championship, trade union network and international solidarity in global sport events preparation. The participants of the Conference are representatives from Ukrainian and global building and wood workers union movement, General Secretary of Building and Woodworkers International (BWI), representatives of government, employers and trade union representatives from construction companies of Euro-2012 from all over Ukraine.
