Ankara: Demonstration for Decent Life

The Turkish ITUC affiliates DISK and KESK will together with the Union of the Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) and Turkish Metal Association (TTB) organise a demonstration on 8 October 2011 in Ankara with the title "Equal Free Democratic Turkey for a Decent Life".
The participants will raise the demands against unemployment, precarious work, inequities and ecocides and will also ask for decent life, peace and fundamental rights. Other issues raised will be severance pay, minimum wage, occupational accidents, imprisoned unionsts, viable environment, a peaceful world as well as the rights to strike and to collective bargaining.
100.000 of people are expected to join.
